The National Catholic Heartwork Camp
The group of young people who cam to work with Hospice Ministries this summer were an exciting group workers. Their energetic voices and willingness to help on any project was inspiring to us all. They came from New Mexico, Kentucky, Texas, and Colorado. None of the students had been to the deep south before and were unaccustomed to our weather. The hot summers sun didn't brother them as much as the humidity. The week was quite a learning experience for them, but they soon adjusted beautifully.

The most moving time for all came on their last day, when a few Catholic Heartwork Camp staff came by at the request of the students to join them as troubadours and serenade our patients and the staff with their lovely voices. Even the nurses became a little misty eyed as this group wandered through our halls.
