Registered Nurse:
The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse, under the supervision of the Nurse Coordinator, who provides direct patient care to the terminal patient and the family. The RN is the case manager and must possess necessary skills to interact with other members of the IDT group as well as the patient/family, physician and hospital. Functions within the scope of professional nursing practice as defined by the Mississippi State Board of Nurses and the policies and procedures of Hospice Ministries. Licensed Practical Nurse:
The LPN provides direct patient care and services to patients. Provides skilled nursing care to patients and provide family support. Certified Nursing Assistant:
Performs direct patient care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and assist nursing staff in the rendering of patient care by providing those services necessary for patient's comfort and personal hygiene requring little or no variation in routine. Unit Clerk:
The Unit Clerk is responsible for managing desk activities and other assigned work, performed in accordance with Hospice Ministries policies and procedures.
Coordinator of Education/Infection Control
Carries responsibility for development of staff education as it relates to patient care and staff development. Oversees employee health program including health screenings, Tb skin testing, random drug screenings, and Hepatitis B vaccination. Presents annual mandatory inservices on infection control and hazard communication.
