April 21st started off with an enlightening workshop on flower arranging with longtime professional arrangers, Carol Duggar (right) and special quest Sheila Cowart(left). | Around fifty volunteers viewed their fellow volunteers' art work at the Recognition Reception. Some volunteers are painters, illustrators, and craftsmen. Some have musical or poetic talent and entertained us at the awards. Pins were given to volunteers who had worked for Hospice Ministries over the past few years. Helen Anthony from Ridgeland won this year's Volunteer of the Year award. Congratulations Helen! Don Guillory, June Stevens and John MacGregor won special "Star" Awards for gathering over 3000 hours of volunteer work since 2001. |
